Monash University has been contracted by the Commonwealth Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR) to establish the ANDS service.  The Australian National University (ANU) and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) are subcontracted parties to Monash to support the development of the ANDS service.

In 2008 the Project Management Committee will oversee the ANDS Establishment Project.

The ANDS Establishment Project is expected to conclude on or before 31 December 2008.

ANDS Establishment Project Outcomes

The ANDS Establishment Project will be viewed as successful if it:

• Signs a contract between an entity and DIISR for the delivery of ANDS
• Produces a formal collaboration agreement for the delivery of ANDS
• Prepares an Interim ANDS Business Plan for the period July 2008-June 2009
• Conducts an international search to recruit the ANDS Executive Director

In addition, the ANDS Establishment Project will:

• Undertake consultation and communication activities with the research community including:                                                                    

                                       - ANDS Technical Working Group
                                       - ANDS Forum

• Identify a range of ANDS service providers by conducting an Expression of Interest process
• Prepare services for delivery

 ANDS Organising Node

The ANDS Organising Node (ANDS ON) is responsible for the development of the Business Plan as well as contributing to other planning activities.  The ANDS ON group meet weekly and have been seconded either full or part-time to this work.
